How accurate is bedside ultrasound for the diagnosis of injuries to the abdomen or chest in patients with blunt injuries?
In this review the authors conclude that positive POCS findings are helpful for guiding treatment decisions in patients with suspected blunt thoracoabdominal trauma. However, with regard to abdominal trauma, a negative POCS exam does not rule out injuries and must be verified by a reference standard
